If you have never had to worry about your weight. If you never had to worry about your blood pressure. If you never had to worry about your cholesterol. If you just ate what you wanted to eat at that moment and never had to give it a second thought as to its affects on your health, how do you all of a sudden make that transition?
What do you do? What steps do you take? Who do you listen to? Is this a temporary thing? Will I have to do this the rest of my life? Will it kill me if I don’t make changes? How will it affect my day to day life? Will it change what I can do on a physical basis?
All of those questions and concerns are valid, and not all of the answers are known. That is why there are so many variables concerning the human body and their health factors.
What we do know:
1. blood pressure
2. Cholesterol
3. Weight
are major factors indicating and affecting our health.
And the odds are if your weight is under control, the others will fall into place, including your blood pressure. (We monitor my husbands blood pressure with our own blood pressure machine at home: most effective tool you could possibly ever have) You can check them out for yourself by clicking on this link : Blood Pressure Monitor
And what is the biggest factor in controlling our weight?
WHAT WE EAT !
I want to tell you about my friend Mary. She was overweight and struggling with terrible knee pain. She had previously kept her weight under control by staying physically active..especially walking…and now could not do so because of the pain in her knees.
She and her doctor were discussing knee surgery and it was tentatively planned 4 months in advance. Mary decided she needed to change her eating habits and to incorporate healthier foods in her body that would help her recover from surgery.
Mary started to write down every thing she ate, and it was a real eye opener for her. She did not realize all the “junk” food she ate. ( She really didn’t think that she did) She added in more fruits and vegetables and monitored her portions, and the results: She lost a whopping 40 pounds!!! Wonderful!
The best result ever: Mary did NOT need the surgery.
Once the weight was gone..so was the pain.
What food can you start eating today that will help your body and your health?
